Another great media event for Presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
Obama has fun with host Chris Matthews, as well as the audience, during a special “College Tour” edition of this popular political talk show.
West Chester University in Pennsylvania served as the host and some students fired off some very thoughtful questions for the candidate.

(from BraveNewFilms)
Faced with unprecedented filibusters, the only way to ensure Senate passage of the GI Bill is to get 60 co-sponsors. So far, John McCain has refused. The same McCain who insists he supports our troops. The same McCain who is voting lockstep with the Bush Administration (who have also resisted this bill).”
Sign the petition demanding John McCain sign on as co-sponsor to The Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act (S.22 & H.R. 2702).

“The Great Dictator” was directed by and starred the legendary Charlie Chaplin. Released in 1940, this commercially successful film, was also the actor’s first talkie.
This scene is Charlie’s magnificent and brilliant mind at work, delivering an emotional and compelling speech, calling for the end to fascism and tyranny.
His words are prophetic and ring true today. Pay attention to not only the words, but the emotion and intent in his words. There is a global message for us all, framed in this one motion picture scene, and all we need to do is pay attention.

For the second time in as many weeks, Chelsea Clinton, faced a question from the public on the Monica Lewinsky scandal that dominated her father’s second presidential term.
Campaigning for her mother on Monday at North Carolina State, a student posed the question to Chelsea, insisting that the issue was of public concern, since the scandal took place while Bill Clinton was serving as president.
Chelsea Clinton strongly disagreed and said the matter was “none of your business,” and “that is something that is personal to my family. I’m sure there are things that are personal to your family…”
Just last week, the young Clinton, faced a similar question about Lewinsky at Butler University.
While Chelsea has been publicly campaigning for her mother at college and university campuses, the Clintons have insisted that she is not a public figure and subject to personal questions about herself or the family.
The Clintons cannot have it both ways. Once they tossed Chelsea on the campaign trail to do her mother’s bidding, she became a public person and all bets are off. As long as she remained a private citizen, she was protected from such prying and personal questions, but not anymore.

Zimbabwe dictator Robert Mugabe and his ruling ZNU-PF party are posec to announced soon that they have won the recent presidential and parliamentary elections, despite regional and international reports that Mugabe lost the election to his opponent, Morgan Tsvangirari.
The once lucrative and prosperous Zimbabwe has spiraled downward under the dictatorial rule of Mugabe, with more than 85% unemployment, 1,000% inflation, rapid food shortages, rapid HIV/AIDS infections as well as deaths, and the collapse of the country’s once profitable farming industry. Under these conditions and growing dissatisfaction with Mugabe, it would be a shock if he won the election openly and fairly.
The United States has already pledged that existing sanctions would increase if the election was stolen or rigged in some manner. Further sanctions are expected from other nations, including Great Britain, Australia and others.
There is also increased worry and speculation on how the Zimbabwe population would react to a Mugabe victory, with rioting expected on a widespread level.

The rest of American Idol’s Top 10 might as well resign themselves to battling over who comes in second this season, because David Cook just became the season seven winner, with his cover of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.”
Cook sang the Chris Cornell arrangement of this Jackson classic and brought the house down and Paula Abdul to her feet.
This is hot.
