Clinton/Obama Ticket? Not So Fast.
February 6, 2008 by polivox

Now that Super Tuesday has come and gone without propelling either Clinton or Obama into front-runner status, there is a lot of speculation on whether these two neck-and-neck candidates could share the same ticket for the Democratic Party.
Here’s our take on the situation…
The only way Clinton and Obama can end up as running mates will be if Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic nomination. If that happens, you better believe that Obama will be romanced into taking the V.P. position on the ticket.
If Barack Obama wins the nomination, there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell that he would choose Hillary as his running mate. Why?
If you were Obama, would you choose to spend the next four to eight years doing battle with both Hillary and Bill on every issue and facet of running the nation? Not likely. Obama will want a V.P. (John Edwards) that compliments his policies, youthful appeal, and forward-thinking agenda.
Hillary as a V.P. is a no-win situation for Barack. It also seems likely that the nation’s first female Vice President (with a former President on her arm) would likely overshadow the first African-American president.
However, Obama would be more likely to accept the V.P. position with Hillary to give himself more time in the spotlight, as well as sharpen his political skills and build even more support for a run on his own once Hillary’s presidency has come to an end.
It’s just our opinion but it seems plausible.
What do you think?

No Clinton-Obama or Obama-Clinton ticket. In short, here is who they might want to pick should either one get the nomination: For Clinton, either Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN), Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) or Ret. General Wesley Clark. For Obama, he might want to turn to Gov. Tim Kaine (D-VA), Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA), or Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE).
