Shocking Video: U.S. Soldier Kills Puppy
March 5, 2008 by polivox
As a blogger, I come across a lot of strange and disturbing stuff. I get a ton of email daily and most of them are trying to get my attention to a particular subject or issue. Now and then, I get a link to a video.
Today I got an email from a friend with one of those video links. His message to me was simple and clear:
Please publish this. People have to know that not every soldier is a freedom fighter. There’s at least one who is a cruel and heartless bastard.
One of the Marines in the video says “that was mean…that was mean Motari.” Some web sites are reporting that the puppy killer is a Marine by the name of David Motari based out of Hawaii.
I don’t know when this was recorded but it was recorded in Iraq.
No matter what you think of the war or the military, this action by a U.S. Marine does not bring honor and credit to his unit, his country or to his family.
The young soldier that did this should be punished. How we treat the most defenseless of animals is a reflection of how we value all life. This soldier has no heart.
Warning: This is disturbing. It is only a few seconds. There is no blood or shooting involved.

UPDATE - 3/08/08: The Marines are conducting an official investigation. The video has been viewed by several veterinarians/animal specialists, and they have commented that the puppy appears to be alive at the time of the incident.
A dead puppy would not tuck its legs up to its chest when held by the scruff of the neck. A dead puppy’s legs — when held in that position — would be limp and lifeless.

This guy needs the shit beat out of him!! Anyone who could do something like that to a deffensless animal has more than one problem, from what I have read this is one of the first signs that a person may become a serial killer (not sure the correct term please forgive my ignorance). I feel sorry for anyone that may be in this idoits life!!
Sorry for any misspelled words but this really is something that angers me, and whats sad is someone will say hey its just a dog!
What is wrong with this motherfucker….. what is his problem… what.. is it because he has not killed enough today so he has to fucking hurl a innocent helpless puppy to its death for him to feel better about himself… what a big strong man… how brave huh?????? What a waste of space…. and so are all the other guys around him, who did not even try and stop him, and even if they could not just aughed at it afterwads, not even man ebough to go and check on the state of the puppy and if it was not dead atleast shoot it quick and put it out of its broken bodied misery…
Whatever your opinion of war,, I have come into contact with soldiers and theya re not normal people, they are conditioned into killing as part of day to day life and the fact is they see us as civilians and them as soldiers they do not see themselves as the same as us and it shows in this video.
I am infuriated by this loser of a man.
Steve,
I find this criticism of the marine to be rather overdone.
I concede that he was unreasonably cruel and should be punished.
I disagree that he has no heart, that he is a “heartless bastard,” and that how we treat the most defenseless of animals while we are engaged in war reflects anything about how we value life.
As to points one and two, I would only suggest that what we do at our worst moments is not indicative of the sort of person we are likely to be. Even the best people I know have done awful things. In moments of weakness, we are all likely to do any number of terrible things. Driving drunk, lying to a loved one, cheating on taxes, being unfaithful, and the like. This marine was certainly cruel, but is supremely indulgent of us to judge him, when none of us is blameless.
To my third point, I offer that this marine was, on a daily basis, under a tremendous amount of nearly unimaginable stress. To kill a dog for no reason can say nothing good about one’s character, but certainly, if we are ever to be understanding, we should simply be sad about what this marine has done and insist that he be reprimanded. To infer negatively on how he values life, especially when he routinely risks his for often ungrateful Iraqi civilians, is hasty and unwise.

The puppy was dead. Listen to the sound. It doesn’t get any quiter the farther away it is. The sound was added.
I am not saying that throwing a dead puppy off a cliff is any less deplorable but I think it is nice to know that the dog did not have to go through with that.
Paige:
After researching this video, I can tell you that the puppy was alive. There is currently an investigation ongoing in Hawaii where the Marines were based before leaving for Iraq.
The marines who were present have admitted that the puppy was in fact alive.
That puppy was flung head-over-end and you can hear it cry as it plummets to the bottom of the cavern. The sound diminishes a little because of the echo in the cavern.
I am at least glad that there is an investigation. I only hope that the punishment fits the crime.

WOW,
I THINK I’M GOING TO BE SICK!
Even though I am by no means a member of PETA, I still must assert that one needs to be careful how we treat God’s beasts; pointless cruelty does nothing more than open a spiritual door for Satan’s demons to enter your soul and spirit.
This Marine needs to get right with Jesus Christ, or else he will die in his sins, face Judgement, and then get cast into Hell’s darkest pits . . . forever subject to unimaginable torments and undying thirst.
Believers in Messiah, if you are reading this, then PLEASE say a prayer for Jesus Christ to get a hold of this young man, and any others like him, who relish Godless cruelty like this.
Mike:
No offense, but I think this guy needs more than a divine intervention. He needs to be held by the scruff of the neck and tossed, end-over-end, into a rocky cavern.

Very Very SAD.
What one man does can have a bad outlook on the entire Marine Core. However it’s not fair to hate or be a judge of that person. I guess he has a lot of issues. I know war can be a hard thing and heavy on the minds.
No reason to be doing what he did though. Gross!
I still will support our troops and hope that BUSH will be stopped or the War ends soon.
First I want to say that the first time I saw that video I thought, ‘This has got to be fake, because no one is that cruel,’ but now I am positive that it is real. What I wanted to comment on, though, is that everyone seems quick to condemn Motari. If he was, in fact, in Iraq at the time, I feel horrible for him. When my job gets stressful I stop off at the pub for a few beers. I can’t imagine what its like when your are in a foreign country that doesn’t want you there, and people are intent on killing you. And by people, I mean teenagers in explosive jackets. I like to think I am a pretty tough dude at times (I’m not), but I’m not sure what I would do if a kid came at me with a bomb. I just want to say, in my opinion, everything the Motaris in the army do in Iraq is the fault of all us Americans. Sure some of us did not vote for the Moron in Chief that sent them there, but all of us must admit we could have worked harder to prevent him from making this mistake. And now we want to bring the soldiers home. What is clear in all this is that there won’t be any parades for the men and women who come home. I’m sure if given the choice of fighting a useless war fought because of hybris and financial gain and fighting a just war over safety and morals, the soldiers would have chosen the latter, but we did not ask them. We are all the Frankensteins of this tragedy, should we be surprised when one of our monsters turns against us?
lol its just a dog people!!!!!!
Bill:
If the statement “just a dog” is a way for you to get attention, then I’m sorry for you.
If you meant what you said and you found some perverse enjoyment in the soldiers torture of a puppy, then I feel sorry for you and anyone in your life.
I guess cold and heartless people like the Marine are not alone. I’m sure you two would really get along.

That man needs to be beaten severely with an aluminum bat for 5 minutes by Joe Pesci high on PCP.
Kudos, Chris!
I refuse to watch this video but i can imagine what is on it. I hope the man that did this will suffer 3 times worse than that puppy did. an eye for an eye! He will get whats coming to him. i am sure of it. i hope his life is cursed.
Good job marines. you made your self a puppy killer. give yourselves a pat on the back
haha! this video made my day
for once the us military actually did something i agree with!
